What is this trick?

Postby maggik24 » Aug 31st, '10, 13:02

A friend described a trick to me that he witnessed a while ago. Details are sketchy as he was drunk at the time but it went along the lines of this...

My friend chose a card and the magician asked him to shuffle it back into the pack. The magician took the pack and removed two cards which he placed face down on the table, he got my friend to cover each card with one hand.

He asked him to check the first card, it wasn't the chosen card. He put his hand back on top.
He asked him to chck the second card, it wasn't the chosen card. He put his hand back on top.

The magician asked him to check the first card again, which at all times had been covered by my friends hand, and the card had turned in to the selection!

I have had a search but cannot find any examples of a trick like this existing. Has anyone come across it before? I've been trying to think how it could be achieved but have been struggling. I'd be interested on peoples thoughts. Thanks :)

Its method more than a specific trick , since it uses sleights.

If you have a basic working knolwedge of card magic, Its easy to work out.

Anyone with some card handling skills can string that one together. Being Ulrika Johnson's brother sounds like a much harder trick to achieve. Are you sure it wasn't just her dressed up as a boy?
