i've watched the tony corinda 13 steps to mentalism video.. and in the one trick he uses something with with his palm to write it on the notepad... . Does anyone know with what was he writing? what's that thing on his palm that he is writing?

I wanna perform some cool magic tricks.. and i don't know where to start.. i have some books about them but they are all hard to read for me .. i need some books just to get started.. can someone please list some authors?

Unless you are going to specialise in mentalism 13 steps is probably not a good place for a beginner to start. You will not find many magic tricks in there because it is not a magic book.

If you want the basics of card magic start with The Royal Road To Card Magic. For a good mixture of decent tricks that are quite quick to learn get Mark Wilsons Complete Course in Magic. This is a very cheap (around £10) but really first class book.

Call me Mr Thickie Thick Pants but if you were watching the 13 Steps to Mentalism surely you only have to watch the explanation of the effect you've described????

Johnny beat me to it with the Mark Wilson recommendation, it really is a great book to get started. I'd avoid 13 Steps for the time being.

I'm sorry I can't help myself, it must be some sort of disease, but I must post my response.

I bought a piano and can't find the notes. Can anyone help?

Did you torrent the piano? It's probably a glitch.

Stu and Dale: I suspect what's happened here is that the OP has seen some performance footage on YouTube etc. The fact that he hasn't referenced Osterlind is probably a big hint on this. That and the fact that a $120 DVD set would make for a very odd purchase for a beginner!!

Van_Der_Belt methinks you're right! The sneaky rotter.

Ahem, Boris333 he gets a tiny specially trained dwarven lad to sit in the palm of his hand. The lad then wrties on the pad when he is gently squeezed.

If you do get such a tiny magic individual to help you in your magic please don't squeeze him too hard if, you attempt this 'cool trick', as it makes a rotten mess.

Plenty of tips and help were offered in the earlier thread which was then moved out of sight for various reasons. The answers are still the same, hope you read them at the time Boris.
