Play Fighting Gone Wrong :(

Postby Jordan C » Sep 24th, '10, 22:50

So after a few drinks last night a friend and I were playfighting near a wall. He grabs me by the legs in a wrestling grip, lifts me up and over and I smack my head on the hardest part of the wall (aka the corner bit).

Ambulance comes, takes me to A&E where I'm all strapped up on boards and in neck collar. but being drunk I discharged myself until when I woke this morning I was in severe pain and numb down one side of my body.

Go back to hospital where I get strapped up again and taken for xrays and scans. Turns out I have 2 compacted vertebrae and above all this they have now identified I have degenerative bone disorder too which is why it was so easy to compact the spine.

So next time you decide to have a drunken play fight with your mates... think twice!!

That's terrible news Jordan. It never fails to surprise me at how delicate we all are.

Look after yourself buddy and I hope that you're not in too much pain.

Well hopefully it has been spotted in time so as not to become crippling too soon. There are things they can do apparently but because I was at A&E it wasn't for them to make referrals so off to doc on Monday to get everything moving.

I quite often fight my mates, its quite fun.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

Sorry to hear that. Get well soon!

A friend on another forum was in a car accident including a skull fracture. When he came round he was told, "You'll make a full recovery from the accident, but we found out you're HIV-positive." Whoof. (He's doing very well on antivirals now.)

You just never know what's lurking in the background, but at least once you find out, you can start doing something about it.
