G'day

Postby Arle Le'Quinn » Oct 6th, '10, 22:52

Living in Tasmania. Been interested in magic since childhood. My dad used to do tricks, like pushing bottle caps through tables and making smoke apear from rubbing his fingers.

Watched Paul Daniels on TV I think in the late 70s. Used to hang out at Ozbods, which was a magic supply shop in Brisbane a couple of decades back.

Found out recently I'm an Aspie (Aspergers Syndrome <high functioning autism), which explains the on-again-off-again nature of my relationship with magic... and everything else. So as part of my self-management I'm cutting my interests down to the bare essentials, and as magic has been a part of my life for about 38 years, I consider it essential.

Bought Mark Wilson, Bobo, and Royal Road, which should give me plenty to start with.

Interested in Bizarre, Psychic, Impromptu, Stage Illusion, and am starting to look into construction of illusions. Would like to build stuff.

Well that's about it. See you inside.

Arle.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Thanks for the welcome folks. Always up for a little abuse. Sticks and stones may break my bones, but whips and chains... actually I should re-read the rules before finishing this sentence.

Thanks folks. Abuse... would come under Bizarre magic? The mind boggles, then kind of deflates.

Gods bless the internet. Tasmania has so little in the field of magic. I've met one person who adds it to a large number of drama interests, but nobody else. No magic circles, brotherhoods, sisterhoods, GLBThoods, or anything else.

When my kids get older I'll have to teach them just to swell the Tassie magic population to capacity.
