The Riffle Technique

Postby Scriptorilsky » Oct 8th, '10, 21:21

Hello dear TM members. Here's a video of a technique I have developed. It's basically doing different moves while riffling (or dribbling?:) the pack. The technique is based on estimation, no breaks or crimps are used.

Nice.

Although when you say "based on estimation" I assume this took a few attempts to shoot? as in a 'probably can't be done live' kind of way?
Do correct me if I'm wrong.
I did think it looked amazing, just curious on performability in a live setting.

Custom R&S decks made to specification - PM me for details

Thanks. I'm glad you like it.

Lawrence, everything in this video can be performed live. The "estimation" part means simply that I'm estimating the number of cards by their thickness. So, it can be performed with a borrowed deck as long as it's a USPCC deck, preferably Bicycle. Some other quality brands will do (Fournier). I have about 20 or 15 low quality non USPCC decks and I cannot do this with any of them because the cards are not cut evenly. I guess in England or the US that's not a problem because everyone uses Bikes.

The color change is a bit "nacky", and it does get a bit hard to estimate 3/4 cards in the 1, 2, 3, 4 count, but practice makes perfect. :)

The Subliminal force is, of course, a joke. :)

I find this technique to be very useful for a bunch of DLs that require a get-ready, it makes the movement much more fluid.
