i run a forum for idiot moderators of other forums who cannot work out how easy it is to use a proxy to keep registering despite being banned 7 times.

i need to know how to block these IDIOTS

i bet as magicians you all have mad skillz when it comes to blocking people?

also, sometimes the people have accounts that they are using that are really obvious trolls, and sometimes they are like bloody stealth ninja and have accounts even i haven't realised is still them! makes me look like a right numpty.

sometimes i ban them and then they just rejoin with a fresh IP and email address in a matter of minutes, like is is somehow REALLY EASY AND QUICK to do???!??11111one?

any tips?

I think the best solution is to recognise how utterly deficient these people are and to ignore them. Imagine how empty their lives must be, registering on forums where those members don't want to talk to them. It's a bit like being a yappy little dog that is constantly pushed away yet returns for more (negative) attention.

So don't waste your time and technology on blocking these people. Simply pity them. This might make them angry (although they'll claim to be amused), but that's OK.

The one problem you'll get is around Xmas. These people don't have friends, or indeed anyone to love them, so they will get drunk and, around midnight, post obscenities on your forums.
