Lee Smith - iphone 5

Postby Lee Smith » Nov 24th, '10, 11:31

This is the first live footage for one of my latest effects - iphone 5 which is a comedy routine with inspiration from Kevin Croombs and input from Gary Jones and Dave Lindill.

The routine gives the spectator an impossible object with your details to keep all in a very entertaining way.

This is very easy to do and so much fun to perform. It will be on a new project coming soon with RSVP and will include everything needed to make your own Iphone 5's (with your own details)

Been having lots of fun with this one.

Enjoy!

Thanks Mandrake,

Glad you like it Tomo, and you get to play with it first hand last week.

I think it will be a new movement in mobile technology.

Lots of feedback on this through emails, calls and facebook ect.

It has got me thinking maybe this should be a stand alone effect?

Could come with different customizable designs and templates?

What you guys reckon?

Just tossing my tuppence into the ring. I think you should sell this as a load of physical stickers and go all out on their design. The presentation itself will get ripped off left, right and centre, so the only thing you can be sure of selling is a high-end gimmick for the effect. First pack pricey, then make the refills as cheap as you can stomach, to confirmed customers.

Offer the templates to known pros so they can adapt it with their business info, etc.

If the spectator doesn't engage in the effect,
then the only thing left is the method.

Great minds think alike!

I have been on the phone with Russ stevens today and if we go ahead (looks like we will) then we will be doing something along those lines.

I agree it will get ripped off otherwise. I wanted to get this video up ASAP to get the original plot out there for that reason.

Bit of an update,

When I put this video up I never expected so much interest. It has gone round facebook and other forums like wildfire.

Thank you all for all the kind comments. The routine I filmed here is just the basic performance, there are so many other gags and ways to do it. I posted the video as I wanted to get some interest because this was going to go on my new project, but I have been poorley for a while and had to cancel the filming. (am on the mend now)

As there have been so many requests, we will putting it out on its own and it will be the next thing I do. We have lots of ideas and new touches to add. And you will get everything you need to do this as many times as you like (with any deck) and even a self working version with no sleights.

It is so easy and so much fun to perform.

Many thanks again.

Lee.

A separate release sounds like a good decision, best of luck and hope you're feeling better very soon!

Looks good Lee. I would change the name though, you might end up with apple on your back.

All the best
