Hi everyone I was just wondering if anyone has any new takes on this effect apart from whats on the tutorial and the obvious haunted deck etc.
I've been using this effect for three years now and I recently experimented with two ( one in each hand ) Would not recommend it but the result was two levitating rings but no room to do anything else.
A few tips you may like to know...
1. Reload the reels with this stuff it will save you a fortune.

2. If you have ever used one outside in winter and your hands are dry cover the top of the reel cover in wax you will never feel it slip again. I get dry hands anyway and found this made it stick to the ridges in my finger. It also popped out from my hand once in mid performance !!! I manged to get out of it, just. The wax applied to the top and back of the reel cover stops this from happening straight away.
3. Always have a back up of five reels in your case and ten batteries.
4. I found metal (promotional) Lambert and Butler cigarette box that will contain all the batteries and the reels etc in one handy place.
5. Replacement batteries that are cheap as chips and last for ages.
6. Never allow spectators near you I have had lots of people try to snatch it ! Start of close and always retract a four feet back (move back in if you are comfortable) if some tries to snatch it grab the ring and snap of and return it, never risk someone feeling the IT.
7. If no one has a ring it works well with any coin as well. In fact I find it easier with coins it easier to get in and out of because you have a bigger surface area to apply the wax of the back coin to work with.
8. Lighting. We all know the pit falls of lighting and IT you need to practice in different lighting and use your body to smother the light if your not comfortable.
9. Never do the effect for more than 10 seconds it just doesn't seem to hold the same power for some strange reason. Get in to and get out of it and always step back from your audience when you return the ring and remove the IT. This normally stops any possible snatcher's getting to check for "string" !!!!!
10. I found that the drop on the finger was messy for me and you will normally have always snap the IT to get out cleanly it all depends on your spectator.

I hope this is of some help to you guys.
Mark
