Wow, palming and flipping just to reverse a card

There are far easier ways. Michael Vincent and Darwin Ortiz have a nice way of reversing the bottom card of the deck, it can be found in the Classic Magic of Michael Vincent. It doesnt involve flashing the bottom card.

Dales suggestion of having the card reversed from the start is a good option. You could add a sort of subtlety to this by having the reversed card second from the bottom, so the cards can be freely shown.

Thanks to everyone for their advice and support, it really has helped. When I started to look at the trick and realised I wanted to do it sitting down I didn't realise the can of worms I was opening up.

For reference, the trick I am playing with is Harry Lorayne's Two-Card Revelation from The Magic Book. Not a rocket science finger flinger, but I know from having done it standing up that it has a tremendous impact and genuinely appears totally magical since there is no apparent 'funny business'.

Have you tried doing it? It's not as insane as it sounds... 'palm' is just the position you take the card in and the way you take the card off the bottom of the deck

And also it's a very safe introduction to a palm for those that fear it since it is pretty much concealed the entire time. Good practice.

Half pass (with one card) under the spread. The cards spread between your two hands covers the work.

Isn't this the very first effect in RRTCM?

This what I've been doing since I was 9 or 10 years old I would sit their and talk to the person and looking at them at the same time and while ur talking get a break above the bottom card and flip it and once u flip it move ur fingur down the side of the deck as if u are squaring up the deck and the reason for looking and talking to the person as ur doing this is because as humans it is our instinct to look at onother when talking and when someone looks at you or talks to you your main fisrt instinct is to look at them as they talk and when ur performing a trick where u look they will look if u look at ur hands then that's where they will look

Maybe I have watched Jordan in another life. This is what I use to reverse the card. I began thinking I had overlooked something when I read about palming. When I saw it done the first time it was by literally turning 51 cards and letting the single card slide around. All done under the cover of straightening the deck or a riffle. I cant remember where I saw it originally.

i use this move for Jay Sankeys In Hands Triumph routine. All i do is have the card controlled to the top, then overhand shuffle the deck sloppily, drawing the first card on its own. As the deck will need to be squared, this is enough cover to push the bottom card to the right by extending the left hand fingers, pivot the card on the long edge of the deck and draw it back in with the fingers. It sounds complicated but is very easy in practice.
