Funny you should say that!

The asda i went to was in Pudsey, and i thought i had found one in leeds centre, so i wandered inside it thinking "god, this is a fancy Asda! security Guards People wandering round in suits with briefcases!"

I had accidentally stumbled into the head office!

But the didnt have a clue what bike decks were!

When i was in Asda, they had other manky cards in, at exactly the same price!

Value for money!

If any of you have been watching Coronation Street (I only see it because SWMBO has it on - OK?!) you will know it recently featured a poker game between Mike Baldwin and Fred Elliot, I said Fred Elliot, and you'll note they were using Blue backed Bikes for the game.

There are now two conclusions - a) one of them is a closet magician or b) they've been shopping in the booze section at ASDA!

I noted that too Mandrake.

I still can't find an Asda that is stocking these in my area and none of them are willing to have them shipped in from other branches. Every store that I go to and ask, come up with a different story about their stock ordering system and how head office justs sends these items out when they feel like it.

My local must think that I'm sad as I keep asking and try to fob me off with their other brands).

Come on Asda - get yer house (of cards) in order and arrange for your Bournemouth stores to be stocked as I'm fed up with paying £3.00 per deck locally and can't be bothered to mail order everytime I want a couple of decks!

If you have one locally and can justify the membership fee, Bikes are available at Costco warehouses for a very piffling sum! (see http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic2059-0-asc-15.php )

Just stumbled on this topic whilst searching the internet and thought I may be able to help with this one!

Asda should stock Bicycle Playing Cards in all stores, they are part of the Impulse department.

Impulse is the department in stores responsible for the items hanging in aisles which relates to the items on shelves, (i.e. Can openers in the canned fruit aisle, Playing Cards in the beers, wines and spirits department etc).

The issue with some stores not knowing if they stock them is probably due to them not having a dedicated shelf space in the store (although beers, wines and spirits is the recommended location).

If you can't find them in your local store, I suggest going to the customer service desk and asking for a colleague from Impulse or ask someone to check how many they have in stock on SMART (our pc based management and ordering system) which all stores are able to do, the item number is 8219593.

Finally, our head office is based in Leeds but not at Pudsey store. Pudsey is just one of our Asda Wal-Mart Supercentres which have a larger range, particularly of non food products. Asda House is not part of any store but is large corporate offices in Leeds City Centre.

I hope this information helps!

Nice to hear that the folks at ASDA were surfing the net and found us! (If a man suddenly buys you flowers for no reason... it's probably the Impulse Department)
