I thought I'd better join by now a magic forum site and decided upon this.

I belong to an performance group who believe in pushing the boundaries. My magic is mime based (I don't talk through out it - can be quite hard at times!)
The magic/illusions are there to show people & not performed in the 'ordinary' magic way.

I have a deep fascination with religion and am currently looking at producing a show with religious based tricks. For instance, performing the signs of Stigmata. Any ideas are always welcome!

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

i've always thought that patter is nonesense: magic and mime is something I've always thought had potential and could be quite sinister.

    Have you a vid?

As for religious ... watch out for the nutters!

Some patter is indeed nonesence but a lot of magic, particularly lose up relies on 'the patter'.

In my opinion, it tends to be the performer that ruins the patter be under rehearsing.

    Thanks!

No videos online yet but I'll get one of my Stigmata routine up soon.

Yes, I agree the patter can be a bit dull but it often is needed for some tricks. I often come around this with an video of someone talking through the trick, though timing on this can be hard!
