Loops

Postby The_Outlaw » Jan 7th, '11, 06:42

The loops keep breaking WAY too easily on me, and at a whopping $10.00 for only 5 of them I am about to give up alltogether on l--------ng.
Any advice?
Is there a cheaper alternative?

I've got the STEALTH system from Nothing Up My Sleeve which is a little jig to make your own. I know NUMS isn't around anymore but I don't know if you can get STEALTH from anywhere still.

hiya i am new here so forgive me if my post comes out odd. A more cost effective way would be to tie your own you could use a system like trinity or penguin provide a gadget less download or you could even look at the following post

i hope this helps...after a little practice you will find the right tension and you will feel when the loop is about to go. i had your problem at first but after a short while i now hardly break them

I agree loops just dont last long enough. They can get some good reactions tho.

Thanks for the info...I may just have to look into it.
It seems that it would be pretty difficult to 'tie' the loops though because my fingers are not as nimble as I'd like them to be.

they last longer after practice, because you get to know the tensile strength. However, as others have said Tie your own. you can get rigs that make it easier. and once you have the nack, you will be able to do it quickly.

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

agree with dale completely. its all about the way that you can judge eventually you will be able to gague how much movements to make in feeling the tension i think some people call this "muscle memory"

i tie my own thread using the million dollar knot method (the stelth want working well for me) which is great and the thread i found is infinity thread cos the elasticity and strengh which i find better than the meskia (but dont let that sway you thats just my opinion) i have got some fearson 3VE elastic thread but not tested that yet for invisibily and strenth

saved me a fortune making them though

I tried the gadgets for tying the knots. Didn't like them at all. I learned a method to tie a knot and the trick was to practice on dental floss so you can see what you are doing. Then go ahead and try it on IT. Sure there is a lot of cursing and banging your head on the table in frustration the first dozen times but it gets easier. Sorry I forget the name of the method I use. but really it is just tying a knot.
