Magical Coincidence to the extreme,

Postby MagicalSmithy » Jan 25th, '11, 12:38

So I prep my deck, a cheesy childs trick, and make an ID sorta routine using an a5 deck of cards, mainly out of boredom, so I turn the FIVE OF CLUBS back to front, and go to my nan with the intention of using magicians choice,

She misunderstands when I say "Pick the Red or Black cards" and shed says "ummmmm 5 of CLubs please"

You should have seen her face, i wish I had a picture.

Excellent!

You've got to take every oppurtunity that comes your way like that to enhance your magical abilities to others!

Impossible is nothing, if you only believe!

As much as i love my nan im sadened that it was here and not in public lol, because it was a normal deck inface a cheapo one from a charity shop, nothing special, I gave the still boxed deck to my nan and had her go through it, so i was not even touching it when she found that was the only card face up. lol

Nice!

T'other day Mrs. Grimshaw and myself were playing cards and she kept losing bless her. She became suspicious that I was using sleights in order to gain an advantage, despite my denials.

We ended playing 21, and after a while her losing convinced her I was cheating so she took the deck from me. She dealt out cards to each of us then I asked her to twist me a card, she did, and I had 16. I said 'Twist me a 5' and she adopted a smug grin, spread the deck and plucked a card from the middle, rather than the top card as is the rule.

She slapped it face up on the table...a 5.

She then stormed off and....this is the interesting bit....became convinced that I'd influenced her to choose that card. Very annoying since she is aware of a lot of sleights, and how the whole influence/suggestion thing is largely complete tripe.

Funny how people are desperate to find reason in co-incidence though...
