2 Way stripper deck?

Postby magicj » Feb 11th, '11, 10:57

Hiya,

Does anyone know of any two way stripper decks?

I'd like to be able to sort reds and blacks, then into the suits.

perhaps the shorter ends could be t**ered?

any help on this would be hugley appreciated.

Thanks

JH

As usual, Cards4Magic has what you need. Look for 'Bicycle Belly Strippers'. The kit they sell is expensive, but you get two decks, each with a different type of stripping. You could use what you get to make two decks of the sort that you want.

The other possibility is to learn full deck seperations. Lennert Green comes to mind.

Don't get me wrong I have nothing against gimmicks but in this case learning the sleights might prove to be easier then the gimmicks.

I seperate into colours, then suits. using a full deck seperation. Have not gotten down to the nitty gritty of then moving everything into new deck order.

As an aside, I don't do this infront of people. One of those sleights I use only to amuse myself. However I do use the colour seperation to prep for out of this world.

Im not sure that would work with those cards. Belly strippers arent usually used for stripping as such, more for locating or cutting. Also, setting up a deck with these (i presume you mean half and half) is going to give you half in, half out bellys, which isnt going to help with the seperation of the suits, because each card is only going to have one cut.
What you need is a deck of strippers that has 2 different cuts on each card, an end cut and a side cut. One cut will seperate the colours, the other will seperate the suits.
A standard stripper can be used to retain the order of the entire deck, using riffle shuffles and cuts. Depending on your actual routine it may be possible just to use the standard version.

Maybe you could combine a regular deck with a regular stripper and the two belly strippers to achieve the result? You'd have four or five different 'feels'.

EDIT: You could buy a shortened deck (about £5) and use just the clubs. Then add the spades and diamonds from a stripper deck (turning one set 180 degrees). Add the hearts from a regular deck. That should make locating the suits fairly easy. You couldn't be able to 'strip' them out very easily, though, I'd guess...
