Buying custom made cards

Postby cinemagic » Feb 20th, '11, 05:33

Hi.

I've been messing around with the idea of designing my business card on the back of a deck of cards (bridge cards seem to be the right size) but I've never dealt with printing a custom deck of cards. Does anyone know a good method, as inexpensive as quality would allow but I'm willing to put some extra money in to this just because the impression an effect would make while handing on out would be a lasting one.

Has anyone done this before, know a good website to do it? Preferably somewhere in the US.

Thanks

Hi there,

Have a look at Alan Astras site, he prints them for hundreds of magicians.

All the best

Dunno if it's the sort of thing you're after, but Jessops do them for £8.

I too use a card back on mine, but they are a normal business card size. One of the reasons is that if you've ever been given lots of business cards at trade shows etc. then it's the odd size ones that dont fit in card holders that get lost or damaged. I've been given many cards by people that probably think they'll stand out. Laser cut titanium sheets, plastic see through cards, animated lens cards etc. but they are also the ones that have been lost. Also but probably less important is the lack of white space to jot down notes, numbers, extra details etc.

Well I said in the OP that I was looking for business sized cards. And I know this wouldn't be an incredibly original idea if I was marketing myself as a magician (I'll be doing that too when opportunity knocks) But this is meant to be more a general business card. And as networking is a major part of me getting work it would be really good to make good spirited, lasting impression when I can. So as you can imagine professional appearance is a priority as well.
