Hi wMental. There are so many to choose from it's difficult to know where to start. A lot will depend on how much you wish tospend and exactly what you wish to use it for. Some are better for pre-show only, all though most nowadays work on stage too.

I have compiled a list of SOME of the more popular ones, with links to where they can be purchased. I am sure that in time other clipboard/peek pads will be added.

The current value for monet one that I would recommend would be the Real_time clipboard by Antoni Romero, but don't dismiss some of the others as some have had great reviews (not necessarily here on TalkMagic).

Clipboards

Fabrice DeLaure, Psychic Notepad 3. $1500
http://www.fabricedelaure.com/index2.htm

This would be the one I would buy if I could afford it. It has always had great reviews, but at the price I would suggest only worth contemplating if you are a working professional. My guess would be that Derren Brown used one in his last stage tour.

The only bad thing I have ever hard said against it (apart from the price), is that the clipboard base may be a little too thick. Personally I wouldn’t see this as a problem.

Nelsons Ultra Perfect Clipboard
http://www.maverickmagic.com/pages/3/index.htm ($145)
Alakazam £90

I have heard some great reviews of this one. It is a remake of a product that was available many years ago and by all accounts it has been greatly improved. I have even has a great endorsement from Banachek himself.

The blurb says:
Use this board for private readings, theatre work, cruise ships, corporate events, practically anywhere. Secure all questions you want, unbeknown to the writers and without frar of detection. It will withstand the most rigid examination and come through with flying colours. It so naturally resembles a real clipboard that it prevents suspicion rather than creating it. A natural wood finish, made by a secret process that gives a perfect apperance, excellent impressions every time. Sure fire and easy to load. Holds 6 to 8 questions. Over the decades many impression boardshave appeared (and vanished), but the ultra perfect clipboard has survived all competitors. The reason is excellence, it is simply the best! The Ultra Perfect Clipboard comes with a book of instructions, tips and routines by Robert A Nelson.

The Real-Time Clipboard by Antonio Romero £55
Alakazam

Highly recommeneded. It’s.both transparent and very innocent looking. A great idea.

Lee Earle, Millenium Clipboard £35
http://www.readminds.co.uk/catalog/prod ... cts_id=107

This sounds to me like it could use the same method for the Real-Time Clipboard. As to which came first I do not know.

I do know that anything by Lee Earle though is highly recommended.

The Brown Hornet: $90
http://www.jonsaintgermain.com/Hornet.htm

Some say this is the king of clipboards. I haven’t seen one in person, but people only ever seem to say good things about it.

The advertising blurb:

The unique features of this board make it perfect for professional use. The features are:
* It EXACTLY resembles an ordinary brown Masonite clipboard such as we’ve seen all of our lives.
* The clip is attached to the board; no more piece-of-plastic-with-a-bulldog-clip devices!
* You can peek the information in less than a second.
Nothing is added or taken away.
* I’ve eliminated the bulging or wrinkling of the surface that occurs with every other board by recessing the impression area.
* An ultra-sensitive impression is obtained due to the impression area pressing against the paper by magnetism.
* Extremely durable under real performing conditions.

Bob Cassidy’s “The Master Clipboard” $50
http://www.mastermindreader.com/cd/private/index.html
Highly recommended by all those who have it.

Banachek Clipboard
Banachek describes how to make a very nice gimmicked clipboard on one of his PSI series of DVDs. I can’t recommend the DVD’s enough. And not just for the clipbord.

Notepads,
Invisible Assistant by Shrink £26
http://www.advancedmind.co.uk/invisible2a.htm

I have seen some great reviews for this notepad peek device. It would appear to work for pre-show or up on stage. He has even started a yahoo chat area so that various aspect of it can be discussed.

Richarard Osterlind Peek Pad.Instructions on how to make this are on one of his Mind Mstery DVD’s. Simple to make and very effective. Mainly used for pre-show work.

Mind Spy Pad: Mark Elsdon £16
Alakazam

The reviews I have seen for this haven’t been so favourable. Mark Elsdon will however be lecturing at Ipswich on 20th September, so maybe I will be able to tell you more about it then.

Great post BananaFish,

Anyone got any of these clipboards that would care to add anything?

I use The Real-time Clipboard mentioned here by Bananafish. It's a great bit of kit when used properly. It does have a couple of flaws however, but these are very easily over-come with a bit of thought!!

skeeter

Postby Piers » Aug 3rd, '05, 07:40

I've just bought the Skeeter from John Riggs. A nifty little board. very clever, very subtle. And it looks like a doctors freebie - it says Viagra on the back.
But again, it is very clever.

( I heard that he may not be making them much longer ... ).
