Bitterly disappointing if this is an instant Larry, Curly or Moe effect

Then you shall not be disappointed! No stooges or instant stooges here :)

That is one of the best routines I have seen in a very long time.

Thanks very much. I've been using it for over a year now. Recently I have had another effect become my opener (constantly updating my shows, me!) and I am unsure where to put this effect now! I like the fact that I am offstage, that's what makes it fun! Hmmmmmm...not really sure what to di with it now!

I guess this can sit in the "back drawer" of my mind for a couple of years...maybe I'll bring it back out eventually!

Love

Don't put in anywhere near any drawer, especially the back one. Its way too good! Why not have the scroll sitting on view for a period of time in the show, and do the prediction at a suitable moment. The fact that is been on show for so long will blow people away! Or utilise it in another effect!

Its a very good opener, but I think the scroll prediction would just as well, if not better, as a closer. But thats my 2p.

Thankyou for the compliment.

I have now decided its fate! My next theatre show does not include this effect, though I do not see this effect as having been wasted, as I have had over a year's worth of usage out of it now. I guess I am just somebody who enjoys chopping and changing his stage material! My next theatre show (due to be performed in late March time, in Reading...tickets will be about £14...plug plug!) only includes 2 things from the last one, with everything else completely different and new!

As I said, I may well pull this back out again, but it won't be for a long while now...at least a year and a half-2 years, because of this next set I have just finished. I think that is why I wanted it filmed...just to have it documented as a "last goodbye"! It was a pity that the reaction wasn't as strong as usual, but then again, it was a smaller audience than usual!

The method, as I am still getting PMs from people about it, I think would be very disappointing to most magicians. I am not actually magic, and this effect isn't real mind reading! Only 2 people know of the workings to this effect I think, and that is Richard Bellars and Lee Smith. Lee liked it but didn't dwell on it, as he does close up, though Richard loved it, and we all know he enjoys his stage work!

But as I said...keep in mind my next theatre show! I'm currently looking at late-march, in the lovely town of Reading! Though, as I said, this effect won't be in it :)

Love

Facebook prediction

Postby TDGinge » Jun 6th, '11, 12:04

Hi

I love your face book prediction. I have been wanting to put a little bit together to go in a show with other magicians. I haven't performed live before but nee a real strong opener to blow everyone (even the pter magicians) away.

Would you mid sharing the effect with me? Or even tell me where I can learn it from. I think it's a great opener and would love to try it. :)

Thanks a million.

Richard.

To all my lovers out there:

Imagine asking somebody in the audience to change their mind as many times as they wish, before they name a Facebook status. They name one.
After being invited onstage they are given one last chance to change their mind. They do.

Yet still, after all this, their decision matches your prediction.

Nobody touches the prediction. The effect is completely hands off - nobody needs to be onstage at the time the prediction is opened.

Here is some feedback from several high profile performers:

"It's very effective - I really like it. I like your approach of taking well-established methods and developing applications from them"

- Jon Thompson, author of "Naked Mentalism" I and II.

"A really nice idea - I love it"

- Richard Bellars, winner of ITV's "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" and creator of "Confab-SHOE-lation.

"It's a great routine and one that I can see myself utilising. The Facebook idea wouldn't fit well with my performance style but that's just because I'm an old fart! And of course it's all hands off, which suits me perfectly"

- Paul Voodini, author of "Reader of Minds" and "The Magician's Guide to Palm Reading".

"Loved it!"

- Freddie Valentine, author of "Occult Magic: An Introduction" and the "Tarot Reader's Black Book".

Note the following before purchase:

- The routine provided does not have to be used, and the methodology at place can be adapted to pretty much any style.

- This is primarily a stage piece, and although it can potentially be adapted to close up, in my opinion it would be very difficult.

- This piece takes balls.

I do also believe that there are some reviews coming in soon.

This e-book is the first in the "F*ck Tradition Trilogy", with a massive surprise as to the final one...

Kind Regards

Love

I do like this effect and method. I wouldn't say it took that big a pair, though - no more than if you were doing a similar effect "vanilla" style.

Simon Scott

If the spectator doesn't engage in the effect,
then the only thing left is the method.

I have to say that I am really happy with this purchase, it shows what a bit of thinking outside the box can produce, an impossible prediction.

It does take confidence to perform, but this is no different to a lot of other mentalism.

I think Chris will have a long successful career in mentalism if everything else is of this calibre.

Damn you. Released this at a time I have no money. The suspense is killing me. Cannot wait to buy this. I have to know how this is done!

I decided to over come the whole "no money" thing and buy this (only because I have just won a nice little game of poker!!)

Very interesting, and much cleverer than I thought. I couldn't have been more off track!

But its brilliant. Thanks!
