I also think Uri Gellars spoon/key bend should be in the top ten, top five even. The way he captured the imagination of not only the public, but other magicians as well was phenomenal.

One hundred years of magic is celebrated in this extravaganza, which charts the art form from the heyday of music hall to the pioneering days of television, from contemporary street magicians to the superstars of Las Vegas. Rare vintage clips capture the mystery and enchantment, with an impressive line-up of over 30 great magicians, embracing star names of the television age, as well as those from the early days of theatre and cinema. Heroes of Magic explores the fascinating role of show business wizardry, from the time of magicians like Houdini, John Nevil Maskelyne and David Devant, to the mind-boggling magic of modern-day performers, who have taken their tricks on to the streets.
