magic super secret

Postby tarb » Sep 14th, '04, 22:26

hello everybody,

I started learning magic recently and all the sleights seem to be coming along ok, but theres one thing i cant seem to be able to get. I realise what im about to ask is a closely guarded secret so feel free to speak in code or PM me or do whatever it takes to keep this gem of advice from the general publics hands.

When dribbling the cards how the hell do you stop them getting stuck on your fingers when you get to the top??? It always seems to start off ok but then they start coming off in clumps. Ive tried holding the deck as far up as i can, which helped but didnt solve it, and ive tried moving both my fingers and my thumb up the deck instead of just my thumb (then i realised all thatt was accomplishing was lifting the deck up).
All help is gratefully received.

P.S thanks in advance for all the replies which say lose weight so you have thinner fingers.

Apply a small ammount of pressure to the back of the cards with your index finger so that the deck flex's slightly. This will give the cards that extra bit of spring allowing them to dribble freely from hand to hand.

All the best,

hold the deck by the index corners

Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music. - Kristian Wilson, Nintendo, Inc, 1989..
