looking for a coin bending routine

Postby ultimatecreate » Apr 26th, '11, 22:11

I'm interested in looking into a coin bending routine (signed), but find my only dvd on the subject (Banachek - Psychokinesis) to be somewhat lacking in the coin arena.

Any suggestions? I've seen the Superman bend has some mixed reviews for UK coins but looks pretty handsome.

Love to hear thoughts. Cheers
Alex

Psyche by Andrew Gerard has some great material on coin bending.

I'd swear by Coinvexed as would many others I have no doubt.

If you want to do a signed coin routine, then Coinvexed is an excellent solution, and the best methods I've played around with. Obviously the routine is something you'll need to work on.

Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash, and I'm delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever.

seen a coinvexed 2...£84.99 quite a wounder to the purse strings!

Is the original coinvexed better/cheaper?

the original coinvexed may well be cheaper, but coinvexed 2 is UNDOUBTEDLY miles better, it is something that I take everywhere I go and have done 100's of times. The amount of people who have come up to me at parties months after a performance and still show me their bent coin is incredible.

I've heard rave reviews about coinvexed, but personally I am not too sure on the matter. Whether the spectator really contemplates the possibility of a switch is questionable when unsigned and unmentioned, but it definitely arises when it has been signed. Yes as magicians we know we can't switch them after signing, but maybe the audience does not. It's obviously not easy to get into the mind of a laymen and find out. But personally I think if you appear to place an unbent coin (signed or unsigned) into a hand and it seems to bend in the hand I think that's the strength in the effect. So if I was to perform this effect I would probably do it unsigned with a pre-bent coin.

However, this is personal belief, if I was to use a signed coin I would use coinvexed but a single coin method using a different misdirection rather than another coin. Personal choice though of course.

Occasionally CV and CV2 are seen for sale on Ebay so it's worth checking from time to time and maybe save a few quid.

Picked mine up for£50 at the peterborough 1day convention, only performed it a few times at the moment but the reactions have told me that if you paid the full price for thisit will be money very well spent.

All the best
