Card to Purse thingy

Postby jim ferguson » May 3rd, '11, 19:28

Last night I was looking through my Switch book (highly recommended if you dont already have it) and one of the effects made me think of the card to impossible location plot. There are many versions of this such as wallets, boxes etc - I use John Kennedys Mystery Box. Anyway there is an effect in the book that uses one of those square purse things, that opens by squeezing the top. Im sure you'll all know what Im talking about but I dont know the actual name of them :), and it struck me that this would be handy for a card to impossible location. A folded card could be permanently fixed within with thread (so it is loose), and the usual mercury and shu***e pass could be used. This would have the advantage over boxes in that it would hardly take up any pocket space.
    Anyone tried this ?
PS. If this is already in print somewhere let me know and i'll have the post deleted :)

I think it's not exactly a purse frame, but one of those squeezy openers you see on some glasses cases - like the one on these: http://americanvisionreaders.com/images ... pcases.jpg

I had thought of using these squeeze-tops for a nice hidden section in a wallet - they have the advantage of being small, soft, silent and self-closing. Yet to build a working model though.

Not cards, but seem to remember that David Roth has a coin routine that specifically uses these because of their easy opening/closing qualities.
