Misremembered effects

Postby TheStoner » May 10th, '11, 16:55

At last night's gig this guy was talking about having seen Derren years ago before he was famous. He said that Derren did a "magic square thing". The way he remembered it was that Derren drew a blank 8x8 grid, members of the audience filled in the squares with numbers of their choosing while Derren went off to the bar. When he came back he showed them that all the numbers added up to the same total in all the various ways as per usual. He was adamant that Derren himself didn't write in any numbers. Either it was a bit of a miracle effect or he wasn't remembering things quite accurately. I suspect the latter, unless anyone knows differently...

well.... ifyou watched the David mead show, you would of seen him do more or less his,on a larger scale.the spectator chose numers. he just wrote them down.
but there again,if several spectators wrote the numbers down, there is a easy way of doing it. I think thereway a dealer item that did the dirty work for you.El Duco usd to sell it. If its what i think it was.no longer available Im afraid.

( I would also put money on this not being Derren they are talking about.. it just doesnt sound like his style at all.... remember before he hit the big time, he was a card worker.)

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....
