Got into magic by watching Paul Daniels & Wayne Dobson. After performing for a number of years i got fed up of performing commercial magic and went into the mentalism & bizarre magick field.

I was (seriously) born in a convent - Sisters of Mercy - and my mother didn't see me for the first three days of my life. I think I was being swapped for a jackal pup or something. So you see, I had no choice.

I have an image of a group of black-clad goths urging my mother to "push".

My father quit his job opened a magic shop, www.perfectmagic.com in 1974 I was nine. We had a choice, help out in the shop or starve. I tried starving but that simply didn't work for me.

I was bored one day when i was 20.
Actually I moved to Spain for a year with the potential for bordem every day so I decided to pick up some new hobbies; mainly magic and juggling.
Worked out alright.

I did a magic show at my seventh birthday. I cut a hole in a table and got a friend to sit under the table and pass a teddy up into my father's hat. Everyone was charmed until they saw the table.

The classic kids' magic set when I was very young. I think my first real interest was when I was about 6/7, as I remember loving the Magic Circle tv show and also some relatives came over from Canada at around that time and brought me some magic, so I am fairly sure that was because I was already into it. I wish I'd looked after the "coin in nest of bags" trick better, but that's kids for you!

I got in to Magic in the year 2000 after watching David Blaine. I thought i want to be able to do that.

I have drifted in and out of Magic since then. Just in the last year i have taken it up big time :-) Now started http://www.warpedmagic.co.uk

my first interest was at a friends birthday party when i was like 4/5 this guy did an amazing trick involving the ingredients for a cake a big flash of fire and a bunny rabbit (still no clue as to the exact workings of that one) but got properly involved in magic in around year 9 when a teacher confiscated some cards cos i was playing blackjack in lesson and then showed me the queens into aces trick i spent ages trying to find out how to do that trick, can finally say done and dusted but could never put down magic after that

I picked up a deck of cards while I was backpacking, and used card tricks as a bit of an ice breaker when I got to a new town or hostel. I learned memory systems pretty quickly and used to show off tricks with memorized decks. Then once I settled back down again, I was able to study more and it all evolved from there.

PS, slightly tipsy backpacker girls love a good magic trick, slightly less cheesy than "someone call heaven, they must be looking for an angel".

Since being knee high to a grasshopper I've always had an interest but it was about 18 months ago when a magician performed at my Son's crech that I really got the bug.

He showed me how a few things/props worked and I was off! Because of his exposure, many hundreds of people have enjoyed my magic at weddings and social gatherings.

Just goes to show that not ALL exposure is bad!
