Not sure if this has been asked before, but, got my first TT and I want to do the basic silk vanish.

What size of silks can you guys recommend, I have bought some 12" silks, but, they seem to be too big, so, would 6" silks be more suitable for what I require ?

Logic dictates if a 12 is too big, a six would be more suited, yes.

To give a not so mean sounding answer (honestly, its not meant to sound as harsh as it did) check out something called diamond cut silks, you get a very long looking silk so it looks much bigger than it really is, and fits a lot nicer in your TT.

Unless you go for the diamond cut six or eight inch is about the practical limit. What I vanish instead is a two foot rainbow silk, only half an inch across.

If you are using the standard silks a 6 inch one works best. As has been mentioned the diamond cut ones look very good and look like a 12 inch silk.

When you have got the vanish down a reapperance can be a good idea, this will also make it into a little routine.

thin streamers are more deceptive than square silks.But please, what ever you use.. dont use red.

The reason is.. ALL "VANISHING HANKIES" from toy shops are red.

Just ordered a blue diamond cut silk, so, will try this when I receive it and let you all know how I managed.
