I would considered the ID to be very limited! infact, it's the most limiting deck of cards i own!

Find "The magic handbook" by Peter Eldin on the used market. It is easy to read, the tricks are proven and it contains tricks that would cost a lot of money if bought individually. It's perfect for beginners of any age.

Penguin Magic is also good at learning the basics. I'm not going to lie - I learnt a hell of a lot from their instant downloads, and it would have taken a lot longer to get to my standard today without them. Oz Pearlman is a great teacher!

Yes, Born to Perform is great for beginners.

A bit pricey though compared to RRTCM. So buy that instead.
