permission to sell needed? - Square Circle Allahkazam Hat

Postby V.E. Day » Jul 15th, '11, 01:13

I have a huge Square Circle Production that has been built for a stage show we are doing in east London and Essex at the moment. When the show is ended (if the prop has survived by then) it is far too big to be stored. But I am unsure whether I am allowed to sell it. It is similar to an Allahkazam Hat - The inner tube is shaped like a large top hat and the outer box is a huge Harrods Hat Box large enough for an elephants head, 70inches across I think.
The white furry rabbit that appears from it is the size of a teenage child - about 4feet tall. The top hat, box and rabbit are all handmade.

Do I need to get permission from Mark Wilson or his Estate to off load it or can I just sell it as a large scale Rabbit From Allahkazam Hat Square Circle Production?

Please can you folks who know about the correct etiquette and permissions advise me please?

Thank you,

V.E. Day,
London.

well, firstly Mark is very much alive and well...

secondly,no.ifyou are only selling one unit that you have made from the instructions inthe book, you have no problems at all.

It would only be an issue if you made several, and sold those.

courtesy sugests that you mention its history in the advert, including where the idea came from.

thats all.

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

I agree with Dale but not everyone would see it that way.
