Fake bicycle cards

Postby Tjex1 » Jul 22nd, '11, 19:16

Hi

My new load of bicycle cards came through the post today, and they are different from the first set.

Here are the main differences:
-They have white borders instead of grey
-Different bar code (old ones not recognised by scanner)
-Squished text
-Different text layout on back and bottom

Any help/ advice will be gratefully received.

Not quite sure on what you want help with? Perhaps some pictures to point out exactly where the problem is. FYI, I have never known Bikes to have a grey border without being one of those daft vanity decks.

Yeah, all the bikes I've ever brought are white bordered too. I do know that in the last year they've changed the box design, so maybe your usual suplier has now run out of the old boxs and started sending out the new. This may explain the barcode thing too.

Pictures would definatly help though. What's the quality like? Are they up to standard in that respect?

Sorry, meant gold, and I am talking about the box rather than the deck itself. Slightly concerned that either one of the two decks may be fake, and don't want to make the same mistake twice. I will try to upload some pics.

Gold? This is still weird to me. Are you talking about regluar bicycles or some custom cards from somewhere?

Definatly upload photos

I'd say that the gold coloured box looks like the bogus ones, but truthfully, they look legit to me.

Must say, that golden box does look like it has seen much more than one hours worth of use and abuse.

The gold one is the one I got about 2 weeks ago, the cards are nearing the end of their life, so I ordered the other ones

The ones on the left are legit, no idea what you have on the right, looks like a bum print job on the boarders, wouldn't put it past the USPCC

Seen both of these designs a lot recently - I'd say they are both legit.
