Hi,

I'm 27 and have had a keen interest in magic since childhood ever since my uncle (former pro & MC member) would visit and show me a few coin and card tricks some 17 odd years ago. Sadly, the drink got the better of the him and now he has nothing to do with the family or magic.
Only recently have I thought back to those days and in doing so have started to try and educate myself in the art.
At the moment I'm practising with coins and cards using J B Bobo's Coin Magic and The Royal Road.
Wondering if there were any dark corners of the internet that people new to magic could go to pick up any pointers or just simply discuss it, I came across this forum and thought it would be a good place to aid my progression.

Any recommended material would be much appreciated.

One question has been playing on my mind the last day or so; it's an odd one, but hear me out:

Does hand-span, finger length or shape play any part or have an advantage with sleights? Or is it just practice, practice, practice?

Thanks.

Hi Ken. No, the size of your hand and fingers doesnt really matter. Every hand is different though so the EXACT position things are palmed or held will depend on the individual.
    Welcome to TM :)

Thanks for the reply Jim. It's good to know that stub-fingered folk like myself can achieve with time and patience.

Thanks.
