Hi guys,I am new to forum so I might as well post something..
Anyway I bought Testors dullcoat which is ( I hear) great roughing spray.I d like to know how do I apply it on cards(from what distance should I spray,how long should I spray,when I spray should I leave it to dry before sticking other card to it?)?

1) lay all of the 52 cards out on the floor (newspaper underneath), backs uppermost.
2) Shake can for a minimum of 2 mins.
3) From a height of about 2 feet, spray the backs of the cards using a sweeping action. Idealy this should be done outside. If you can't do it outside, make sure you have adequate ventilation. Prolly not a good idea to smoke whilst you do it either.
4) Aim to get the back of each card glossy, but not wet.
5) Don't panic if some cards begin to warp, they will straighten out as they dry.
6) One good coat is enough, Wait 1-2 hours to dry. The cards might smell of the dullcote for a bit, but this isn't really noticable, and dissapears after a while.

I would say from 1 foot but hey, personal preferance. I also always do mine inside (but next to the patio doors!).

Word of warning is do not put too much spray on! litterally one sweep across is enough, don't soak the things!

Make sure the nozzle is pointing away from you.

If the stuff you're using is similar to the roughing spray I had I would avoid inhaling it or getting any in your mouth, as it states 'the chemicals can cause birth defects and other reproductive harm'

It might be a good idea for pregnant women or men planning on having a family to avoid this.

Oh Shi...........

Already smells bad enough and gives quite the headache, but now I understand they are also putting really nasty smelling and tasting (yes tasting) additives into the stuff. Here in the good ole' USA there is a huffing problem and almost anything that you can possible shove up your nose and inhale has this additive to make people not want to snort stuff.

On a personal note I think if the taste of spray paint isn't enough to put you off the stuff then...well have at it. Your nuts anyway.

I'm looking at applying rough and smooth to Tarot cards, I have no idea if the card stock varies on Tarot.

Can anyone recommend a Tarot deck for this purpose.

I've just done some roughing myself. How long does it tend to last? Do you ever need to apply top-ups?

I've never topped up an R&S deck that I've created, but I've heard that some people need to do this. Time will tell. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Card sharks medieval tarot is printed on card stock, most other tarot sets will be plastic coated. This may affect the rough and smooth, but I really don't know.
