Im making my 1st trip to a magic shop on sat (alakazam) and im wondering whats the best things for me to get ?

Im working my way through RRTCM but i get the feeling my friends (after showing them dynamo and fool us lol) are getting bored of card tricks and want to see something a bit flashier so what sort of gimmicky trick do you think i should get ?

I was thinking extreme burn 2.0 but i dont have any other ideas.

Cheers guys.

I would get a few things, Freedom Pack (Great croud pleaser, very visual), ID (It seems impossible) or Diminishing Returns (It is more like the tricks you would find on Fool Us).

Hope this helped!

On the subject of Photosynthesis, it requires minimum skill. Very basic and easy moves. I like this. Have you got it?

Damn you Arkesus for telling me about the wizard product review i cant stop watching them now lol

It's addictive, isn't it? I was put onto it a few weeks ago and keep watching older and older ones.

As a sidenote, one trick I saw on WPR was X-Ray (my review added on the thread here http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic37407.php) and whilst it is a card trick, it's also a mentalism one which blows people's minds! And after you've done the trick, just use the same deck as normal for follow up tricks.

Sure, it's £10 for one trick (download version) but it's a definite keeper.

£10 for a trick, that's nothing.

wait until your blowing your wages on things that are nearer the £100 mark.... and then never using it :)

Completely agree. But there's some weird psychological thing about spending £10 for instructions for a card trick compared to £80 for a one-off gimmick trick.

"For £10 I only get words but for £80 I get something shiny!!". It's the same thing with people dropping loads of money of fancy decks and tricks when £30 can buy you 4 books on card tricks plus 5 decks.

I think it's in Prof. Richard Wiseman's Quirkology that he mentioned an experiment where 70% of people said if they went to buy a computer for £999 and they were told if they came back the next day it would be £984 they wouldn't bother to wait but if they went to buy a calculator for £20 and were told if they came back the next day it would be £5 they would wait in order to save £15. Percentage wise it makes sense but £15 is £15 yet we find ways of justifying it one way and not the other.

Us humans really are stupid sometimes when it comes to buying. :)
