Favourite deck

Postby Tjex1 » Aug 19th, '11, 13:53

I was wondering what everyone's all time favourite deck of cards was. My Tally's have just arrived and I love them, 5x better than standard bikes. I also quite like masters...

What is your favourite deck and why, and as I am starting to make a collection (only 15 decks at the moment, but soon to grow!), are Jerry's Nuggets worth getting?

Never seen the appeal myself, guess I must be missing something.

I stick with, and am happy with, standard Bikes. Though I do prefer Green backs.

Custom R&S decks made to specification - PM me for details

Jerry's Nuggets worth getting

I use a pack of Jerry's Nuggets at every gig I do (not).

I do like Ghost Decks, but I just use whatever I have lying around, I've got some Bikes, some Tally's and some Split Spades.

As long as they are reasonably priced and have 52 of them in the box then I'm happy.

When you start thinking of your cards as throw away items then you'll soon stop spending £5+ on a single deck.

I love to use tally-hos for work, but if I was to name my favourit "special" deck, I'd probably say the split spades too. I like using regular looking cards as I feel they have a nice classic look which goes well with my performance style.

My favourite decks are genuinely aged ones, in particular some 1930s Fortune Telling cards, Cunard Steamship Co. (1930s also) and some Waddingtons with great artwork that I'm having trouble dating. They smell beautifully old, much nicer than artificially aged decks!

I'm a beginner so have tried loads of decks to find the ones that I can handle best, and while I really like the Fourniers, and quite like Tallys, I'd say standard bikes are what I use most.

Bicycle Karnivals. The artwork suits the theme of the character I'm in the process of developing.

I've been in love with Stud brand cards for years. They're cheaper than bikes, avoid crimping, have a nice spring to them, and last forever.

Currently Reading "House of Mystery" (Abbott, Teller), Tarbell, Everything I can on busking

How do you find them? ive got the black, red, and blue and they are all fine. But the dead eyes dont seem to be the same quality, they just dont handle as well.
