Peek Wallet

Postby MrTetley » Aug 21st, '11, 22:22

Hi there,

Just been looking at a few different peek wallets. Could anyone tell me if you can peek without reopening the wallet in either the stealth assassin, infinity, outlaw hideout or outlaw Showdown?

Thanks

Dave

The showdown has a closed peek along with 2 open peeks. If I'm honest I prefer the original outlaw wallet as a pure peek wallet but the showdown is more versatile

The Stealth Assassin allows an instant peak. It's my preferred wallet but not my preferred peak option.

Thanks for the quick replies,

Would it be overkill for me to go for the outlaw as I'm really just after the peek feature at the minute? Are there better peek only wallets available?

I use the outlaw hideout as my Working and Everyday wallet. I really like it a lot. :D

Hi Stephen,

Can you do a closed peek with the hideout? I like the look of the outlaw wallets as they are the style of wallet i use anyway. I really like the look of the showdown, the only thing I'm wondering is, would I permanently have a us driver licence showing in my wallet? If this is the case then the wallet isn't for me! If that question can't be answered due to exposure, no problem at all. It's just quite a major factor in whether I go for the wallet or not.

Ok, I've just bought the Hideout! Now does anyone have any recommendations on the psi card or kioku?

Psi card is a very simple idea, very easy to do, but difficult to pull off convincingly. It doesn't hold up to inspection, so I've always sandwiched it between other effects. Paul Carnazzo's card effects are probably better in this way for a psych-type effect. Kioku is nice, but needs a good presentation otherwise the process you go through will become dull and long winded. I'm not using kioku myself any more as I have the teller as the theme suits me better. Both are reliant on very strong performances. As for the other outlaw cards I've never heard anyone recommend Lunaria, sanctum, both versions are good, but you'll need to have good spectator control and a sense of theatrics to really get the most out of these.

I really like kioku, it looks like real mind reading if framed correctly. Not used PSI card so can't comment.I have sanctum 2 but never used it as it doesn't suit me and kioku is far more direct IMO

Jobasha,

Which Paul Carnazzo card would you recommend?

I only have lexicology and symbolism. Of the the two I prefer lexicology, but if you use the search function you'll find info on the others. I seem to remember other people didn't get on with lexicology as well as the others. If you order direct you can get cheaper deals on them all.

Psi Card is in the back of my cupboard and will stay there (along with Sanctum). I did toy with the idea of making up a more UK friendly version, but I decided the principle was too unconvincing to bother.

I have Paul Carnazzo's Test Conditions which suits my style and I have used it with some success. One thing that I don't like about it, though, is that the corners are sharp enough to catch on the lining of my wallet. I keep it in a pay envelope, but it's ripped through that too.

Thanks Barry/Jobasha,

Will take your advice on board. I've also been looking at some Paul Brook cards, especially the Mind Reader Card. Has anyone had much success with it?

The thought reader card has excellent thinking behind it. It has a very simple, deceptive method. I used it pretty much solidly for several months when I got it and still take it occasionally. The only issue is the appearance may not suit everyone's needs. The flowers and clipboards on the card may not be to everyone's tastes. You know who is a nice idea, but it didn't have much meat on the bones. I found it was usually very short. This is partly my fault for not working on a fuller presentation. Really I should have used it as a intro to another effect, as it was I haven't used it as much. It does work though and does do what it claims on the package. All of Paul Brook's effects have excellent instructions though. They are probably the best instructions I've read for any effect. They go into a lot of the detail behind developments and the thinking in the effects. It gives these effects a value possibly beyond the actual trick.

The thought reader card has been ordered! I think I'm gonna practice with my new purchases when they arrive and stop buying for a while!!

Although I do like the sound of some of Steve Shuftons effects. May have to ask some opinions on "emergency cash" and "inner change".

I've been reading some reviews and it seems emergency cash may be more suitable for a beginner.
