Great Result, bought a unique coin for a £1

Postby sam1978 » Sep 22nd, '11, 11:19

Sorry, to anyone looking for a link to a super cheap magic site the story is a little more luck based than anything else.
My Girlfriend was given some pound coins in her change on the Bus back from Nottingham recently and when going through her purse in the pub later that day, found that something rather unusual was happening with this pound coin and some 2 pences. So instead of spending it she showed it to me.
I clicked straight away what it might be and asked her if she'd let me have it. Being the tight #### that she is we ended up agreed to swap a pound for a pound.

I checked it out and sure enough it was a slightly battered unique coin (though this sort of added to the authenticity of a regular coin).
This worked out great and did some impromptu magic for my friends few things for other people in the pub that night.

So that's my happy tale about my new (old) magic trick, the only sad part about the story is that some poor person out there has had rather more expensive bus trip than they bargained for.

Was worried about this that my £1 coin unique lives with my 10p/2p coin unique

I think it was Mandrake that said he scans every £1 with a magnet and has had no luck, wait til his back from holiday and reads this!

Are you watching closely? Then I'll begin...

I keep mine in one of those plastic SD card holders. Too often before did I find myself with it muddled with change.

Lucky git! I check all my pound coins and have not found one so far (I am sure I am not the only one to tight to actually buy one!).

My mom got one from Tesco.

She showed me how a copper/steel coin can cling to a pond coin.

Yes, it was Coin Unique.

I thought it would NEVER happen to me but it did.

The odds are greater than winning £10/£20 ponds on a lottery.

Mine is the 10/2 version. Those denominations are not required at the prices the hotel charge!

I'm back and I'm still scanning but I still haven't found one!
