L.A.D.s 2nd October

Postby DavMac » Sep 29th, '11, 13:04

Hi All,

Is anyone going to LADs this weekend?

This will be my first ever convention (and magic lectures) and I'm not quite sure what to expect.

I will be there. Since I live near, thought I best show my support for the art.
I went last year and had a good time. This will be their second year of doing it, and will hopefully be better.

Either take enough money, because you will be tempted with our friend CUPS, or don't take any to avoid the temptations.

I'll be there & have convinced the other half to come along too. Now I just need to dress her up as a rabbit...

Oh yeah, my misses will be joining me. She came last year too.
Not heavily into magic, but likes to watch the performances and spend my money.
She enjoyed herself a lot too.

Just became free today so I will be there.

I was performing last year so will be nice to just chill and meet new magic folk.

I know Garrett Thomas and Etienne Pradier will be lecturing.
I don't know if anyone else will lecture, but I am sure there will be plenty of people performing around.
Also the live WPR, which was quite a laugh last time.
But if it is anything like last year, things will happen when they happen.

Lee, it would be nice to see you in person. Have watched so many of your performances, and think you are a great magician!

I'll dig through my emails on the way to work, as I'm sure there was one a couple of weeks ago with more details.

Many thanks,

I look forward to meeting everyone. Please make sure you come and say hi. We can have a bit of a magic session at some stage?

Lee.

Can any of you remember the name of the watch effect where the ending was the hands never existed? I'm sure it was on Vanishing Inc's stall but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. Just interested to see the price as he was reluctant to give it away as a prize.

I think it was called Timeless.

Ah yeah that rings a bell, thanks. Must be a new piece, it's not on their site & doesn't seem to have any info on the web about it. It was a nice effect, I wondered if it could be used as an actual watch like Time Machine. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

I think it was £25 for timeless. I was going to buy it but had already spent waaaaaaay to much. It did look a great effect however. I have a feeling the time will always be " ten to five" if you saw the stage performance but still a good effect

I loved LADS it was my first convention and didnt feel at all intimidated like I thought i might. Esp when I d told a few people I had bought and performed Stand Up Monte at Garretts dealers stall ( Great effect by the way)

Cor I was expecting it to be at least £80+. I suppose thinking about it, if the watch had been 'useable' for everyday timekeeping then the price would be more. I also expect the prediction time is pretty standard. My first convention outside of Blackpool but thought it went well. The last bit was a tad streched out though, just wanted to go home by then.
