Where to buy a card cutter ???

Postby moonbeam » Oct 9th, '11, 20:52

Depending on how much they cost - I'm contemplating buying a card cutter.

I've done a google search but it comes back with too many results to mention :(

Anyone know where's the best place to get a simple card cutter ???

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

don't cards for magic hold them? That will be the first place i would look.
otherwise there are some dealers in America that can supply them. you realy have to search hard though. and they are very, very expensive.

Hey Moonbeam,

If its the type of hand-held cutter for making rounded edges on cards. They often have them in "The Works" and they are the cheapest I have seen them (under £6 when I got mine).

I hope this helps. If thats not what you were looking for ignore this post!!! :)

The stock in the stores tends to change quite quickly and only the core stuff is on their website. If you have a store close enough, nip in and ask if they can order in a corner rounder - I've heard that our local stores will do this sort of thing if asked.

Do you know what the item is actually called ?? I did a search for "card cutter" and it returned 73 matches .... even though none of them were what I was actually after :(

Hobhbycraft Stores certainly sell such rounders (Mrs M. does greeting cards so we're well familiar with Hobbycraft Stores!) but they don't seem to be on their website either, sorry.

Okay I've seen a few corner rounders, but I have no idea which one I should be looking at.
Does anyone know the radius of a card corner ??
I've seen some with a 5mm radius - would this do ??

That's always a problem! Some stores will let you try out one of the cutters so you could take a playing card as well as a piece of unrounded paper along and check. Having said that, a different radius on shortened corners in a gaffed deck can be a big help.

I just got the old tape measure out and I still have no idea what size mine is (pun not intended). By the looks of it I would say that 5mm would be about right.
