It's difficult with Midnight Side of the Mind to really recommend further reading. There are a lot of elements from the world of hypnosis, and a lot of elements from the esoteric world. And I would always recommend reading as much as possible about related arts, but without blowing my own trumpet too loudly there isn't (as far as I know) much comparable material available to the mentalist. I would recommend anything by Jerome Finley and Luke Jermay, as their work and mine do seem to dovetail very nicely.
The influences on Midnight Side of the Mind were the Project Stargate experiments run by US military from the 1950's through to the 1970's and then movies such as Matrix and Inception. The challenge was to take subjects such as remote viewing and past life regressions, and make them entertaining for an audience to watch. I also took something of a leap of faith by releasing this book into the mentalist community not known for their acceptance of anything that remotely smelled of the esoteric. Luckily people like Jerome Finley, Luke Jermay and Neal Scryer had pathed the way and the book was (hurrah!) accepted with open arms.
Miko - just realised you purchased MSotM today. Hope you like it!!
