Trick called Spell bound?? Help!

Postby lostdonkey » Nov 21st, '11, 18:49

Hi everybody!

Ok, i promise i've looked high and low across the site (well, i've searched for various related phrases...) but can't find the info so i am requesting for some help if possible?

I went to a magic shop in Bolton the other week (Absolutely amazing experience - seriously! such a nice friendly guy in there who was more than happy to help out whether you were spending money or not... anyway.) and he showed me a routine he did called "Spell bound" with a 50p and a 2p. Does anybody know if this is in a book to learn or is it gaffs or what? Really want to learn the routine, was great! :) I've checked the books i have access to but can't find anything.

Any help would be greatfully received, thank you very much!

Cheers

Stu

Try the David Roth coin DVDs (or lots of other places)

Vernon's 'Spellbound' is printed in the Stars of Magic along with such classics as Triumph and the Homing Card.

Thank you both!

Gary, is this book still available anywhere or even to buy digitally anywhere? (do you know?) definitely sounds like a classic!

Cheers

There's one going for £10 (too cheap) on http://www.magicweek.co.uk" target="_blank so grab it if it hasn't already gone!

This is me jazzing with a triple spellbound idea outside at the Leamington Day of Magic last year http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HL0_dKLu-nM" target="_blank

gary what chinese coins were you using in you three fly, sorry to go of topic.
back on topic there is the basic spellbound move and variatiions, utube is full of them so you could build a routine around that, also look up johnny wong he has some nice spellbound routines some using a classic coin gaff and some with a set of coins that are classic and very atractive too. :D

Cheers Stu, you should see me do it when I'm sober! I bought the Chinese style coins off a dealer at the Blackpool convention a few years ago, I think he was selling them off for a couple of pounds each, not sure who it was mate, but the paint rubbed off very quickly so they now look rubbish lol!

Spellbound is one of those effects you can do anytime, anywhere if you have a few coins on you, a real classic.
