Timeless - Liam Montier

Postby Lee Smith » Nov 22nd, '11, 16:23

Hi peeps,

Just wanted to show you all this in case you have not seen it?

I was really fooled by this when Andi showed it to me at Lads.

I have been doing this a while and its just superb. I was hoping it was not going to go so main stream as I liked it so much. But now its fully released I thought I wold post it here as I have not seen it mentioned yet.

Its just brilliant and the method is as fun as the effect.

So easy to put your own spin on this. I caught a few people at the recent Tabular Mentis with this so that should be enough reason to check it out. (Beardy lol)

Just a heads up of a product I highly recommend.

Lee.

Indeed!

Since being shown this I've been working it, though with my own presentation.

The effect is killer, it's just the reset that is a b!tch. It takes 5 seconds, but those 5 seconds are difficult to utilise with everybody "watch"ing (hehe).

It also isn't something that can be set up for a while beforehand I have found, without you having to redo the set-up.

Those two points aside, it is an absolute genius idea which I have indeed been working, to a very very good response.

Love

I thought this was similar to Richard osterlinds watch routine until the vanishing hands. How does this play as a time revelation alone without the vanish?

I think it needs the ending with the hands vanidh as Its the only way they can check the watch. With a different handling not a problem but this is practically self working and is strong when they find the hands have vanished and they are holding the watch. You end clean so may as well use it.

I think the two effects are best kept separate. Either do Osterlinds (which is amazing) or this one.

It's very good fits both the magician and the mentalist.

I wouldn't do it a every group, you could, no problem reset 5-10 seconds. (to do it properly)

It says that it DOESNT work as a real watch. Is this correct and has it caused any problems??

Alec

Problems? Apart from not being able to tell the time on it you mean? ;)

With relation to strolling performance I'll just reiterate what I said above. It takes 5 seconds to reset, but it is very difficult to do inconspicuously. And you can't stay set up for too long without having to re-set it up I have found, unless you have the watch on your wrist (though I have a more "professional" watch on my wrist which I don;t want to be taking the hands out of...though you could do so if you wished once you know the methodology)

Done it a couple of times to freinds & got pretty good reactions. Might give it a whirl at tomorrow's gig if I remember. Will report back.
