My Favourite Coin Box Routine - Luis Piedrahita

Postby Lenoir » Nov 25th, '11, 01:12

If you haven't seen Luis Priedrahita before, he's an incredibly talented magician...and what really hurts, is that magic is his hobby! He is a scriptwriter, author and film maker etc and in his home country, very well know.

Here is his beautiful coin box routine...

Perfectly executed.

I've never done coin magic, but now I want to learn. That was indeed a beautiful routine, thanks for showing it to me.

I just wish I had somebody to discuss it with!

That was beautiful. His disguise of the sleights was faultless.

Agreed. One thing I usually dislike about coin magic is that it seems like an exercise in showing off how technical a magician is or how perfect the sleights are..the context of the routine isn't really important, as long as he proves he can do the a good, if not incredibly unnatural palm.

This routine seems the polar opposite of that, for me. Although he is using some pretty difficult and technical moves, it is only to enhance the clarity of effect.

I'd actually like to know what he's saying. The performance, whilst perfect, is amazingly casual.

Check out his other stuff online, some equally brilliant routines. Unfortunately I haven't found a single one with subtitles or in English yet!

nice routine though i'd bet he bought his box directly from boston and although there was some walking on the downs, I don't belive there was any sign of a classic anyware to be scene.
i'd like to see ben salinas include a routine like this as an edendum to his great work on the bobo dvds. :D
