People keep mentioning hexadecimel, which is what I kept thinking. But there are some paired values that start with 0. As far as my knowledge (and research) it doesn't seem that there are hex values that start with a 0.
So though it might rule out hex at that point, I keep coming back to that after changing the values via another cipher.

Though, I think we are all going the wrong way and its something much simpler than that, something that a decypher wont decode, but something we need to work out. I think we are missing something. Or I could be completely wrong.

This was HUGE! I didn't completely get it..

I want to thank Ted for the fun I had in the last two days. Although my work has suffered a bit :)

Thanks...... a couple of days of my life I will never get back ... and I was only a few bits away from XOR ing the two strings.

Actually I learned a lot about cyphers and encryption/decryption techniques. An area I have never visited before.

Well Done A.N.T. and Thanks TED.

Nice work Ant!
Was kicking myself when I saw your solution.
It's like magic. Look for simplicity!

Forgot to say well done to Ant!
I can't believe that while looking through ciphers, I saw XOR (which is what I'm also currently doing at uni!) and I dismissed it everytime.

So....when is the next one? I don't want a prize, I just want something to do at 3 o'clock in the morning when I cant sleep.
Maybe the baton (or wand) can be passed onto Ant now :)

Yay! Congrats Ant! :)

May we know what the prize is? :)

I do not know yet.

I have just given my address and been sent the slightly disturbing message that he will "Be in touch."

Are Blacks Ops people coming to my house to abduct/kill/vegetabilise me? :?

The prize is in transit. ETA: Wednesday. When the payload, I mean lovely package, arrives I'll leave it to Ant to choose whether or not to divulge the content...
