I'm going on Thursday too although I'm a little concerned now that I look at the tickets and they say that visibility might be impaired- sounds like I'm sitting behind a pillar. At least I'll be able to hear Penn and Tell... ah, c*** (not the best)!

Could be your lucky day...the Mrs has decided last minute she doesn't really wanna leave the baby for too long, SO have got two mates sitting on the offer - should know soon enough

Its a £30 seat, looks half decent, bad side, you have to sit next to me

Superb event! It took me just over 1.1/2 hours to reach London then another 2.1/2 hours to get to the O2 - bl**dy awful traffic! Our tickets were for the standing area so it was only a couple of strides to the bar - nice arrangement!

The show was excellent, Paul Daniels being the surprise host and although I’d seen the tricks P&T did either on Fool Us or in their show at the Apollo last year, it was a treat to see them again and performed so flawlessly and as fresh as ever. Good to hear Teller speaking and also good to hear that Penn really doesn’t know all that goes on, he didn’t even know that Teller had upgraded part of a regular routine they do, such is the way they work – full trust in each other to do their jobs correctly so no need to keep checking.

I’d have like to have heard a few more audience questions and perhaps seen the event extended by about half an hour but that’s just me wanting the most after such a long and arduous trip down here! Am I the only one thinking that we might be seeing a lot more of P&T in the UK in future? They certainly seem to have found a place over here and are well appreciated by us Brits.

No we didn't wait for them this time, we did the photos and autographs after the Hammersmith Apollo show last year, and due to the time taken getting to the venue we missed out on food and were starving so had to go find a place that was still open. Sadly that place was Toddington Services! We saw the Coca Cola lorry outside though....

What a great night!

I met Alfred shortly after six so we had a quick drink before heading into the indigo for the show we believed started at 7. We found our seats and unfortunately they were right up in the Gods (just near the bar where you were, Mandrake.)

Alfred and I discussed the art of blagging and how much we both enjoyed it so Alfred played the “I’ve not got my contacts in” card and we were moved downstairs to the third-from-front row. :)

We then discovered that P&T weren’t onstage until 8 so we got stamped out and went back to a bar in the O2. Sadly, Bryan Adams was playing at the main O2 arena so we had to endure his greatest hits whilst we waited. Unperturbed, however, we drank the bar’s most expensive Bourbon on the rocks whilst chatting to the friendly and beautiful barmaids between our own conversation about life, magic and all sorts.

Five to eight came and we headed back into the indigo for the show.

The house lights went down and Penn & Teller were introduced. During the introduction I turned to Alfred and said, “That’s Paul Daniels’ voice!”.

Penn and Teller opened with their knife in hand routine, which you will no doubt have seen on Fool Us.

As the props were removed, Paul Daniels was introduced and the three men took up a comfy armchair each centre stage.

Mr. Daniels proceeded with a nice interview of P&T, starting by asking Teller if he was going to be speaking. Teller replied, “F*** Yeah!”.

The conversation gave a great insight into how Penn and Teller had met, their working relationship etc. and it was great to hear, as Mandrake pointed out, that Penn doesn’t get involved too heavily in what Teller is doing magically.

The guys then did their famous version of the cups and balls routine, which was as entertaining and effortless as always.

Following this, the audience were invited to ask some questions. I was fortunate enough to ask a question and asked what the most beautiful or jaw-dropping trick was they had ever seen was. They replied that it was Paul Daniels’ chop cup routine.

After the show both Penn and Teller hung around outside and signed autographs and had photos taken with EVERY single person who wanted to.

After having my photo taken with Penn, Teller, Paul & Debbie, Alfred and I went back for a final double bourbon before heading home for the night.

My score: 9/10.
Only because I would have liked another half hour or so.

Great write up mate!

Thoroughly enjoyable evening

Ste was also one of the people to ask a question to P & T!

Mandrake, he was to the left of the stage in a check shirt if you remember the Q & A's at all!

I heard the question but as we were right at the back upstairs we couldn’t see anyone downstairs at all. I was going to ask a question but there were four people waiting and only three got to ask their question.

One of the best lines of the show for me was when they were discussing the distasteful antics of fake mediums such as John Edwards, as Penn said, it’s easy for anyone to talk to the dead, the tricky part is getting them to talk back!
