Running cards?

Postby Karma » Dec 15th, '11, 09:51

Page 32 of The Royal Road, The 4th instruction includes "run nine cards".
Is it realistic to run nine cards without it looking very obvious that I'm up to something dodgy?
I'm still quite new to this but I tend to feel that running more than 3 cards would just look wrong.
I'd really appreciate your views on this. Thanks

I don't think so. If you're running them at a steady pace somewhat haphazardly while pattering nobody should notice. If you're talking and not looking at your cards odds are the specs won't be looking at them either

It's is a lot to run but you can do it over 2 or 3 shuffles. I got rumbled a few times with this trick when I first learnt it but it did fool a fair few. It's just exciting enough for me but it's good practice for running cards and it gets the principle over to you.

I hadn't thought of doing it over a few shuffles, thats a good idea, thanks.
