Impossible with Philip Escoffey Channel 5

Postby ColinR » Dec 15th, '11, 21:52

Recorded this earlier in the week and have just watched it; it went out at 25 past midnight on Tuesday morning. Why oh why are Channel 5 broadcasting it at hours when so few people will see it? And how can they afford to put £40 grand up as prize money? That must be about £100 a viewer.
I have really enjoyed this programme and some of the stuff that Philip does is top quality. Of the 2 most recent episodes I really enjoyed the coffee prediction, the friend request and as for the autograph book- it is just hilarious. After 5 episodes I can see no mention of anymore so suspect that muist be it. Why did it not get broadcast at a more popular time? If you've missed these they are well worth catching on demand 5.

The first two episodes were back in May ftopic39121.php
They stopped it for some reason, even though they had recorded all the shows (as far as I know).
The dates for the rest of the shows seem a bit random, like they used the rest of the shows as a filler.

I will have to catch up on Demand5, thanks for letting us know.

Episode 5 was on after midnight last week. Seems odd to place it at random times like that.

Thats 10 am by the way.. So you missed it if you didn't catch it. I watched it.A bit of a curates egg, as most of the shows seem to be.
Dan Baines CSI was used in a nice way, as were one or two other recognizable items.

I knew it was coming up but did not see up that it was in the morning. Given the content of previous episodes I am surprised it was so early, before the watershed, and assume it was cut quite a bit. For anyone like me who totally missed this it is available on demand 5.

Judging by the erratic scheduling I will be surprised if there is a second series of this which is a shame because I really enjoyed this. I think the prize money on offer was over the top for a show of this type, £40,000. The show could have put up maybe £10,000 as a prize and still have been just as entertaining. Although saying that it's not often that anyone won.
