A beginner with passion for magic

Postby Failed Magician » Dec 27th, '11, 19:20

Yo guys. After months reading in this forum, I decided to join you guys here.

I work as an English teacher in Indonesia and this is -I think- my 3rd year doing magic tricks. Mostly card tricks as I find it pretty easy to carry around and I can do many effects with it.

I've joined a forum where I've shared ideas, opinions, etc. And this is the second forum I join in search of more knowledge and a place that I hope we can share things about magic.

I mostly buy things from a trade forum or some magic shops in the U.S. as in here we don't have reliable magic shop. Either the prices are ridiculously high, or they only sell knock-offs here. We have a very small numbers of brick and mortar shop, but then again, they only sell mass-produced knock offs.

I know it sounds ridiculous as I keep insisting to buy original items and DVDs even I don't do tricks to earn money. I only do tricks for free for my students and co-workers. So I'm actually just a magic-enthusiast or hobbyist. But I do take this hobby seriously (gotta ask my wife for that too lol) and I try to build my skill on sleights slowly. I want to be a dedicated hobbyist that can show my capability every now and then.

Well, that's for all. Hopefully I can feel welcomed here. And I would like to share my limited knowledge too in here.
