Having a few problems

Postby Hodgkinson » Nov 24th, '04, 11:55

Hi All,

I am 24 years old and live in Chesterfield UK.
I have been doing magic from a very early age (I was just 3 when I got my first magic set as a birthday present and I was soon hooked)
I would say that Paul Daniels was my original inspiration all those years ago (when he had hair !!)
I prefer close up magic, especially with cards, but I am willing to give most things a try.
I used to do kids parties and I was the entertainer at a Denby pottery open day.
I now have kids of my own to entertain and it looks as though they too will take the path I did as they have a keen interest in performing.

About my problems:-
I could not register, every time I clicked the 'I Agree to these terms and am over or exactly 13 years of age' link, I got a page which said

General Error

Invalid_session

I emailed support and Laurence thought it may be to do with my browser settings not allowing session cookies. These were checked and the settings were fine.
Emailed support again and an account was set up for me.
I can now log on but I can't alter things in my profile as I am still getting the same error come up.

Has anyone else had a similar problem or can anyone suggest something that I could try.
Any pointers would be gratefully recieved.

There are some general problems behind the scenes with the Forum setup and Laurence is trying to get them fixed asap. I believe there's a fix/patch or something which he will be trying/applying this week so if you can just hang in there a while, it might all get sorted soon. And welcome to TM! I'm also a PD fan and saw him only a couple of weeks ago at Thoresby Hall. By a very strange co-incidence we did a detour on the way back and spent half a day (and a load of cash) at Denby Pottery - my self-decorated Mandrake Magic Mug from the factory tour arrived earlier this week!

Thanks for the information, I will just have to keep trying to update my profile untill it works.
Is it possible to change your username in your profile, "Hodgkinson" is ok as this is my surname but I would prefer something a little more mystical. :)

Hope you enjoy many a magical brew from your new mug !

Sorry for the delay in posting but I am now getting an error message when I try to do this ! :(

I think you can amend it but it's been quite a while since I looked into that. I'm sure one of the clever ones here will be able to show you the way to do it!
