OK! So who knows an easy method of making loops with IT? How do you tie a knot with something so delicate?

The easiest way that I've found is to put a little bit of Blu Tac on the ends of the thread and tie the loop around a bottle. You might have to experiement a little with the knot and the thread that you use to find a combination that doesn't slip the knot. I've always found the Mesika thread to work well for what I use it for.

Use a tweezer to tie a knot. Put the tweezer through the loop and pull the loose end through using the tweezers. It works for me when I'm using it for sewing.

Many moons ago one of our members, seige, released his excellent S.T.EL.TH Loops system which was a jig and instructions on how to produce perfect loops every time with minimal effort. There’s a Review at ftopic21178.php. Sadly the source, http://www.nothingupmysleeve.co.uk, is no longer trading but there may be one or two still around and available second hand.

On James George's site itrmagictricks.com there is available a free video download which shows you how to tie a loop and also some routines you can perform with it. I haven't given a direct link, as this is the public part of the site, it might be classed as exposure.

I used to roll a little piece of selotape round each end. This gives you something to hold. Then tie round a glass. Often I would dab a tiny bit of glue on the finsished knot
