It's not even dancing, it's just group swimming.

It's been defined as 'Synchronised grinning with a wire clamp on your nose'.

Does my bum look big in this ?
NO
Oh you're only saying that. Why dont you say what you really think.

next day....

Does my bum look big in this ?
YES
You could have said no. No need to be so honest. Have you got no tact ?

The key to successfully using the former answer is in the timing. You must pause for half a second, and actually look before declaring no. If you just fire the reply out as soon as the question is asked, you get the sort of response you've mentioned. :)

Or, you can say something like, "Your bum wouldn't look big if it were wrapped in a marquee." You should make it serious or obviously a joke, depending upon your respective personalities.

An ex once caught me on the hop by having her hair coloured (verrrry slightly) while visiting her mum for the weekend. Upon being confronted with my failure to comment on her ever so slightly lighter highlights, I merely commented that I hadn't noticed the change in colour because it looked so natural.

Gentlemen, it can be done!

But you have to be d@mn quick.

My actual rant is something that's quite close to one that's already been posted. Lazy b****** who deliver free newspapers and keep dumping the rubbish (wrappers, plastic ties etc.) in my octogenerian father's recycling box. The plastic ties cannot be recycled and last week they left a huge bundled up ball of newspaper tied with the stuff. I am this (indicates very small distance) close to ringing up the newspaper about it (it used to be one you paid for, so they might not be completely dismissive), but maybe I should dig out that old "banger" device that sets off a cap when something is lifted up...

Vegetarians who dislike vegetables.

Got one of these in the family, insists she is vegetarian because she "doesn't like meat", but only ever eats textured tofu meat-a-likes . When we cooked up a proper vegetable stew for everyone, she was the only one who refused to finish it because she didn't like the taste of all the veg.

PS :
Also she eats fish.
Presumably fish don't have souls or something.

I like messing with vegetarians. I tell them that chicken isn't an animal because it comes from an egg. What larks! :D

She's a pescetarian then. Which should annoy her if you point out she's not a vegetarian. :D

I once met someone who would happily eat chicken (or any meat) but refused to eat eggs, because it was 'cruel'. After hours of interrogation we figured out that she believed the yolk, being yellow, was in fact the part that would become the little yellow chick when it hatched. As in it was sort of liquid-proto-chicken-baby, which put her off eggs completely.

We have pointed it out and she just says "Whatever, I still don't eat meat". We're scared to argue the case with rational discourse in case she decides that she no longer wants to eat seafood either and basically starves to death.

Kids, eh?

Also, also, I was just reminded of this. Does anyone know what punctuation should follow the phrase "I know, right" ?
Is it a statement? A question?

It doesn't seem to contain any meaning at all and yet everyone seems to say it these days.
