blue back bicycles v red bicycles which is better

Postby samfairweathermagic » Jan 26th, '12, 22:34

i think that red are better than blue because they are brighter and more interesting allthough the dark card kicker to an ambitous card is better with a blue deck just my thought anyone who thinks different post here

I personally prefer red the only reason being is that I think they look a lot better than a blue backed deck. :)

I prefer blue merely because the very first deck of cards I was ever given at 7 years old as a present was a blue backed deck of Waddingtons.

Blue...

I use Boris Wilds a lot, and blue makes a difference... and sometimes I do a chicago opener, so the red really stands out! Plus, I think that being darker backed, the audiences attention is more on the faces of the cards, and if there should be an unwanted flash of a card from between my fingers, if it's blue it'll stand out less than red.

I've not really got any preference, I usually just use whichever I pick up as I'm packing up my stuff.

I used to buy red over blue, but then ended with a load of blue back decks. I don't really care which I use really.
I can understand if I did a single red card in a blue deck, it'd stand out more. But I guess a blue card in a red deck would still stand out.
I guess it's just down to preference and situation.

If I'm doing anything that requires the back of the card signed or a torn and restored I'll use a red deck. But when I'm performing I've always got one of each on me.

I care just enough to post here saying that I don't care.
I never use bikes though. "Magic cards", not good. I prefer Waddingtons or any deck that's easily available. Cartamundi Stratus or Royal Flush are good quality, some other "corner shop" brands are a bit dodgy.
I prefer bridge size, because that's what I grew up with. Also, they're slightly easier to conceal - and why give up an advantage?

Totally depends upon the nature of the effect I am performing (contrast/ visibility of signatures).

I've always used red backed tally-ho's when I perform my card magic, or at least for the last decade. I chose to do this because I just prefered the bright colour and I like the colour red.

I remember reading something in a Derren Brown book though about the colour of the backs of playing cards. I forget which book but he explains that he prefers to use red because they have a better contrast with the green felt of a card table.

Still, I'm not prejudiced against different coloured playing cards and will use them if handed a deck or if my own favourites aren't to hand.
