Alan Alan's Dual Control Revisited

I was thinking of buying this.

I've done a search, but don't seem to be coming up with anything.

Has anyone got this effect? & what's your thoughts please.

dual control is the effect that sparked many other routines. You can use it in several ways, not only as a suspension, but also as a wonderfull rising card with a borrowed pack.
although i have not seen Michael Vincents dvd on it, i can assure you that you are not going to be disapointed. The more you play with this usefull tool, the more ideas will come forth.

Thanks dales,

Looks like a neat effect, do you have to make the gimmick yourself though?

no, Although you can.
It should come with a gimmick . When it arrives, i bet you think.."Is that it?" However once you pin it on, and start playing with it, you will be impressed.
I have an original one at home, that is still in tip top condition, after the best part of 45 years.( I should add, it came in a box of bits.. Ive not had it that long) LOL.

Incidently it has been published in Gansons art of close up magic volume 1.

Thanks again dales,

Just ordered it.
I was thinking of buying some M Vincent dvd's.
It's mainly the card stuff I'm interested in, so might take some time tomorrow to have a look at what he's got to offer.

It was originally put out by Harry Stanley at his Unique Magic Studios.

You will FIND IT in

+Tarbell 7

The Rising Card page 108

The Mesmerised Cards page 112

The Balancing Coins page 265

These are 3 routines using Dual Control.
Page 108 gives you full instructions on how to make it
Will take you 5 minutes to make

I also haven't seen the DVD (mainly because I prefer books). I bought my first one from Supreme many years ago and I have used it to good effect in the past. That came with the full Ganson Dual Control routine. After the first one had a close encounter with a cufflink I recently made up my own from the revised and improved instructions in Tarbell 7. I bought the necessary in John Lewis.

Thank you Allen, & Barry,

I'm looking forward to doing some effects with this.

I have some real killer card routines up my magic tux now, but I also like to throw in the odd effect away from cards too.
I'm sure this will be a good routine to add to my building repertoire.

Going slightly off topic, I recently received, as a free gift. "Prevaricator" by Patrick Redford.
This is something else I am working on. I've tried it with a few friends with good results.
Never thought I would reach the level of magic I have so quickly, just goes to show what a lot of practice can achieve.

Be Well.
