Digital Electronics for Magicians Needs You

Postby Tomo » Mar 20th, '12, 11:34

I'm currently deep into writing the follow up to Electronics for Magicians, called Digital Electronics for Magicians. It's packed with techniques for adding that certain something to props and effects using a tiny robot controller (example: controlling a servo interactively with a variable resistor http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AN4LEc5iQLQ" target="_blank) . I'm including some full projects, but I'm looking for more. If you have an idea for something you'd like me to cover, drop me a PM. There's a free copy in it for anyone whose idea makes it to print.

I'd like some kind of stun gun device that will automatically activate when a spec tries to grab my props.

comedy 'countdown' timer.

A pointer on a clockface (as in the 'Countdown' program)

Press button A the clock counts down at normal speed.
Press button B and adjust the variable resistor and the clock speeds up or slows down at your request.

have you seen 'Lock Stock and Two Smoking barrells'? theres a scene where a card cheat uses a small 'scratcher' fastened to his leg for an accomplice to send a code to him. Its a small piece of metal that moves back and forth, probably could be done using a small servo if it was quiet enough. Could be useful for two person telepathy acts

All good, interesting ideas, and plenty more via TM.

This is shaping up to be a rather ground breaking publication.
